Churches Working Together
We work closely with the two other Christian communities in our area, the Roman Catholics who share St Petroc’s Parish Church in Padstow and the Methodists at St John’s Chapel, Padstow. Working together is coordinated by a joint group called ‘Churches Together’ and there is an Anglican-Roman Catholic joint committee to help the church share run smoothly.
The Roman Catholic Community
The Parish Church of St. Petroc is under a formal Church Sharing Agreement, the only one in Cornwall. The Roman Catholic congregation is part of the parish of St mary and St Petroc, Bodmin which also has churches in Wadebridge and Tintagel. At St Petroc’s the Blessed Sacrament for the Anglican and Roman Catholic communities is reserved in the Lady Chapel in two adjoining aumbries and the two congregations join together for Stations of the Cross in Lent and other events. Holy Mass is celebrated on TUESDAY at 9.30 am and on SATURDAY EVENING at 5.30 pm
The Methodist Community
The Chapel of St. John is situated on Barry’s Lane, a two minute walk from the centre of Padstow. There is no resident Minister in Padstow but the Stewards offer a warm welcome at their service at 11.00 am each Sunday.
