“Weekly News” for
THE UNITED BENEFICE OF PADSTOW
ST. MERRYN and ST. ISSEY with ST. PETROC MINOR
Sunday April 29th – FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
A WARM WELCOME TO OUR VISITORS TODAY
Introduction and call to worship
In Christ, God loves us even when we fail to love one another. We gather in thanksgiving and humility to praise the God in whom are found our true unity and salvation.
Almighty God, who through your only-begotten Son Jesus Christ
have overcome death and opened to us the gate of everlasting life:
Grant that, as by your grace going before us
you put into our minds good desires,
so by your continual help we may bring them to good effect;
through Jesus Christ our risen Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen
THE READINGS FOR TODAY (Page 546/548)
First Reading Acts 8:26-40
The good news of Jesus Christ spreads to a prominent Gentile through an apparently chance meeting.
Second Reading 1 John 4:7-21
The test of our love for God is our love for one another.
Gospel St. John 15:1-8
We are all joined to one another by our common union with Christ.
whose Son Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life:
Grant us to walk in his way, to rejoice in his truth,
and to share his risen life;
who is alive and reigns, now and for ever. Amen
