“Weekly News” for
THE UNITED BENEFICE OF PADSTOW,
ST. MERRYN and ST. ISSEY with ST. PETROC MINOR
November 26th 2017– CHRIST THE KING
A warm welcome to visitors who join us today.
As members of the family of God, we are to care for our neighbour who is in need. This is the test of our love for God who loves us so much that he has prepared a place for us in heaven with his Son, our crucified and glorified King.
THE COLLECT FOR CHRIST THE KING
Eternal Father, whose Son Jesus Christ ascended to the throne of heaven
that he might rule over all things as Lord and King:
Keep the Church in the unity of the Spirit and in the bond of peace,
and bring the whole created order to worship at his feet;
who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. AMEN.
THE READINGS – Page 360/363

God promises to rescue his people and care for them himself.
Second Reading Ephesians 1.15-23
Everything in all creation is subject to Christ, whom the Father has set at his right hand to rule in heaven and on earth.
Gospel Reading St. Matthew 25.31-46
The king appears in judgment, vindicating his own people.
POST COMMUNION PRAYER
Stir up, O Lord,
the wills of your faithful people;

WE NEED YOUR HELP
A Rota is on the churchwardens’ chest at the back of the church if anyone can spare a couple of hours to steward the exhibition.
Also posters are available if anyone can help distribute them around the town, shops, in the neighbouring parishes etc.
If anyone could spare time to bake a cake or some mince pies that would be greatly appreciated.
This is great Outreach as we can involve the youngsters of our community and it gives them the opportunity to learn about the different cribs and the true meaning of Christmas. Thank you. Sue and Linda.
