October 30th 2016 – ALL SAINTS SUNDAY
A warm welcome to visitors who join us today.
“Greater love has no man than this, then he lays down his life for his friends”
May they all rest in peace and rise in glory.
COLLECT FOR ALL SAINTS SUNDAY
Almighty God, you have knit together your elect in one communion and fellowship
in the mystical body of your Son Christ our Lord: Grant us grace so to follow your blessed saints in all virtuous and godly living that we may come to those inexpressible joys that you have prepared for those who truly love you; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
READINGS FOR TODAY (Booklet)
First Reading Daniel 7: 1-3, 15-18
The prophet, in a vision, sees the Son of Man brought to the throne of God in heaven and given an everlasting kingdom
Second Reading Ephesians 1: 11-23
The letter of “Christ the Church”. This opening chapter recalls the high privilege of our calling as Christians.
Gospel St. Luke 6: 20-31
Jesus’ manifesto, of reliance on God, and the consequential blessing, given us through “The Beatitudes”. Our rule for Christian living.
God, the source of all holiness and giver of all good things: May we who have shared at this table as strangers and pilgrims here on earth be welcomed with all your saints to the heavenly feast on the day of your kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
“ALL SOULS DAY” – Wednesday, November 2nd
Wednesday, November 2nd is All Souls Day and the day we remember those we have known and love and are now at rest. At the service we read out all the names of those requested on that day.
There will be Requiems (Eucharists praying for the souls of the departed) in
St. Saviour’s Trevone at 9.30 a.m. and at St. Petroc’s Padstow at 10.30 a.m.
You have the opportunity to have your loved ones names read out at these services by letting me have their full name and date of death, in writing please.
Please note that only the names requested will be read out at the services.
“May they all rest in peace and rise in Glory”
RESTORATION OF THE CHURCH TOWER
For the seven months October 2016 through to April 2017 parking is severely restricted as the contractors are using half the car park nearest to the church for their compound
PLEASE can you help us by only using this car park as a last resort as the limited spaces we have are needed for Church Rooms users and for those visiting the church.
Please do not block the access for the contractors as they will be receiving regular deliveries of materials, and we cannot be responsible for any damage to vehicles on the car park.
THANKS FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION
HOLY DUSTERS – Our next date is Saturday 12th November, we would like to give the church a thorough clean before the Remembrance Day Service on the Sunday. If you can spare an hour to help especially as the restoration of the tower is now under way then please meet at 9.00a.m. There is a cup of coffee and a biscuit for everyone after the session.

ST PETROC’S CRIB EXHIBITION 2015 – December 1st – 4th
Sue & Linda are organising our annual Crib Exhibition in the first week of December. If you have a crib or nativity scene you would like displayed please contact Sue (01841 532902) or Linda (01841 532183).
Set up will be on Wednesday 30th November, from 10am so you can bring your cribs along to be displayed.
* You will be able to collect your cribs on Monday 5th December from 10am*
There will be a rota to help steward the church and if you can spare an hour or two to help out it would be very much appreciated. It involves greeting people, making tea or coffee and generally, keep an eye on the exhibits. There will be a rota at the back of both St Petroc’s Church and at St Saviour’s Church.
This is great Outreach as we can involve the youngsters of our community in making cribs and give them the opportunity to learn about the different cribs and the true meaning of Christmas.
